“Cross Town Traffic (Generation)…Get Through to You!”

“Who sang Cross Town Traffic?”
As chance would have it I hard this song on the Radio today. Many of you will recognise the words from none other than Jimi Hendrix guitar legend himself…..
So what am I going to do to get Traffic? (can’t write that without hearing the song…sorry, I know – a little strange) to my Blog as instructed by Alex Jeffreys. Anydo….below is a video discussing what will no doubt be a long trip to the
“…..other side of town”
My objective is (realtively) simple, find the best ways to generate traffic to my blog so that (and as they say on X Factor in no particular order!)
a.) I win $1,000
b.) Learn how to do it in the most effective way
c.) Share my experience with you my good reader and fellow student!
Enjoy the Video (sorry about some of the production – still getting use to Camtasia!)

Hi Harry,
Great video, getting to grips with camtasia myself. The whole red and green arrows thing on the timeline does my head in!
I have just put a video on my blog, I have done a JV with Disney World! Watch the video, I’m sure it will bring a smile to your face.
Happy Christmas!

Hi Harry,
Like your blog. You obviously have good video skills. I intend to get into video in the new year. I’m not taking the competition seriously, I don’t have the time to devote to it. If I can increase my traffic, I’ll be happy with that. Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Ken

Hi Harry,
I’m still laughing from our Twitter conversation! Good stuff all round.
Sensible question for you (I know, unexpected from me after our Shooting Stars & Star Wars convo) – how do you get the opt-in box in your right hand side column? Also, what plugin are you using for the Subscribe via RSS OR Subscribe via Email?
Any thoughts much appreciated!
Thanks,
Nikki (Minxywitch)

Hello Harry, Great News!
I hope you read this because you have to go to my blog and read my post – What a very profitable night.
If you read my last article I showed everyone how to set up a long tail keywords to get listed in google. Then tonight I set up a sitemap and with in 15 minutes MY blog was on the first page of Google under my title (My Internet Marketing Journey)out of – get this 1.560,000 listings.
I am teaching everyone how to do this – Please spread the word – Thanks in – advance Vince
@Nikki- Hi there! To answer your questions……….
I just read the Profit Pulling Project and in there there is an article on how to add an RSS feed and plug in…couldn’t do better than that really…except to add that the email code you are looking for is in the “Publisize” section and then there is a tab for email subscriptions – copy that and go to wp-admin/ design tab/ widgets tab/ add a “text” widget and add the code, give it a name ex: subscribe via email and then click change and then save changes at the end of the widgets.
The same is true for the aweber list – get the code at aweber (like you did for your Profit Pulling Platform (see Alex’s videos) and select a text widget and click change and save changes at the end.
If you have ANY problems or you want me to do a video just let me know and I will sort it out!
@ Mark: thanks mate camtasia is great but a lot to learn!
@Ken Thanks for your comment Ken – hopefully the series of videos that I will do will help us get more traffic!
@Vince Well done mate!
@Matt Thanks for adding me I will add you!
Cheers
Harry
Harry,
You are a GENIUS! Thank you so much for your help above. Think I’ve now got my RSS feed sorted (although I’m reticent to speak too soon!), couldn’t have done it without your info in your reply to me above.
Will have to make sure the Dove From Above has something special for you as a reward!!
Thanks,
Nikki
Hi Harry,
Next question for you (what, you thought you’d got rid of me!)
I’m trying to install the plugin for the OnlyWire software, but the download on their pages doesn’t work (gives me a php file rather than a zip file with the plugin).
Any thoughts? As you’ve got it working on here I figured I could come pick your brains again!!
Thanks,
Nikki
I know, I know – me again. This time just to say I’ve got it all sorted thanks to JT Martin – I had to upload it the old way (ie through CPanel) rather than using the built in plugin uploader in WP 2.7.
All sorted now!
Thanks,
Nikki
